Royal Warrant for supply of Hams to HM The Queen

without comments

Just when things were at their most frantic in the hectic pre-Christmas days of 2003 Neale Hollingsworth, my husband, heard that the Dukeshill Ham Company had received the Royal Warrant – ham manufacturer by appointment to the Queen. The following April Neale and I set out for his first encounter with other Royal Warrant holders.

The President of the Sandringham branch of the Royal Warrant Holders Association had invited us for a tour of the house, followed by a reception with the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh. We  were also treated to a tour of the Royal stables which was amazing. The prize stallion had the most beautiful walled garden not field! The stables were state of the art with in-built cameras to monitor the horses. All in all most impressive and the Queen’s devotion to horses and racing were plain for us all to see. We both felt incredibly priveleged.

In June of 2008 Neale and I were invited to attend a Buckingham Palace Garden Party in Neale’s capacity as holder of the Royal Warrant for supply of ham to HM The Queen. As it turned out, the day was the quintessential British summer’s day with high temperatures, not a cloud in the sky, and the most wonderful afternoon tea. Delicious pastries and cakes and a generous smattering of royals made it a most enjoyable day. Again we both felt unbelievably lucky to have attended such a party.
